Trust me, you need to try making these baked Buffalo Chicken Wings as soon as possible. Our (almost) 2-year-old couldn't get enough of the amazing, silky sauce and was licking his fingers after every bite. In this recipe, we use spicy chili sauce for the Buffalo sauce, but using a non-spicy version works great too. This dish takes about 45 minutes to prepare, making it perfect for a busy weeknight or a weekend treat.

Outstandingly good Baked Buffalo Chicken Wings
If you want to make authentic New York Buffalo Chicken Wings, you should fry them, but I promise you these goodies are incredible when baked, too. The first recipe dates back to 1964 to Anchor Bar in Buffalo (hence the name). These are the main reasons why we believe you should try it:
quick and simple preparation
a fantastic dish for weekends, game nights, picnics, or parties
all the ingredients are easily accessible
serve them with your favorite side dish (we love a good salad on a side)
store in the fridge for up to 2 days (then reheat)
Essential ingredients
We purchased all the ingredients for this recipe and for the Coleslaw in our favorite Lidl. Below, you can see some of the recipes for both the Buffalo Chicken Wings and the Salad; grab the full recipe below or read more information about the ingredients in the following paragraphs.
Chicken wings - choose your favorite skin-on, bone-in chicken wings.
In this recipe, use salt, pepper, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper.
Soy sauce - Light soy sauce with low sodium is the way to go. It's not too salty, yet it delivers that umami flavor. If you're using dark soy sauce, only use about 1 tbsp of sauce and two tablespoons of water.
Baking powder - makes the chicken wings soft inside and crispy outside.
Butter - we need a lot of butter in this recipe and thanks to the butter, the sauce will be creamy and luscious. Choose unsalted butter.
Chili sauce—We used a sweet chili sauce from Lidl, but you can easily use Frank's Original Red Hot Sauce that's, which is available on Amazon.
What to serve with Baked Buffalo Chicken Wings
These Baked Buffalo Chicken Wings are just the right amount of stick and delicious. Our favorite side dish is Coleslaw, but you will adore any of these:
We love serving these Chicken Wings warm and fresh.
If you have any leftovers, keep them in a sealed, airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Before serving, reheat in a pan on the stove or in the microwave. This sauce has butter, which means the consistency will change when it becomes cold; that's why we always need to reheat it to regain that luscious texture.

METHOD
bake the chicken wings
Set a rack in the middle of the oven and preheat your fan-assisted oven (or air fryer) to 210 °C or 410 °F. Add the chicken wings to a bowl. Season with oil, pepper, salt, and garlic powder. Toss to combine, then add the soy sauce and baking powder. Toss to combine and arrange in a single layer over a large baking sheet lined with baking paper. Place in the oven (or air fryer) and bake for 25 - 30 minutes at 210 °C or 410 °F.
buffalo sauce
Place a pan with butter over medium heat. Add the sauce, garlic powder, soy sauce, and cayenne pepper when the butter melts. When the mixture comes to a light boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes, or until the sauce thickens. Add the baked chicken to a clean bowl and pour the sauce over it. Toss to combine, and serve with your favorite side dish.
