If January was free, fun, and a fantastic start to 2023, February was the opposite. From the beginning of February to this day, our kiddos have been sick. So most of February was spent inside, at home, caring for our sons. We had a few of the "first" this month. One was fun, the other, not so much. Let's jump right into it.
February moments that were scary yet filled with love
It was the first time our kid was hospitalized. Adam and Flin got sick, but Adam's health deteriorated quickly. He was out of breath, and his overall health was poor. He was hospitalized for four days which, as you can imagine, is the worst nightmare for any parent. After he got better, he got an ear infection and then last but not least, the 5th disease diagnosis. Can you blame me that we are all pretty excited for this month to end? Hopefully, March will be healthier.
Flin started eating solids, and he loves it. It's so special to see your kid fall in love with food. We started with squash and sweet potato; after a couple of weeks, he already ate lunch and dinner.
My mom celebrated her 60th birthday. I love my mom; she's kind, thoughtful, caring, and deserves the best. Jernej and I always wanted to surprise her for her 60th by throwing her lunch with her sisters and loved ones. We managed to do that (only Jernej and Adam couldn't attend) and bake some sweet treats for her celebration. Also, we should post more celebratory treats; what do you think?
Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday. We couldn't attend any celebrations this year, but that didn't stop us from dressing up the kids and baking doughnuts, fritters, beignets, and other sweet treats. Adam wanted to be a doctor for Mardi Gras, and we dressed Flin as a lion. They are so cute.
THIS HAPPENED AS WELL...
Medical stuff. Because of all the sickness in February, we decided to upgrade our medicine cabinet with some stuff to help us get better soon. This is what we currently use:
- Inhalator (to prevent unwanted progress)
- Nasal Aspirator (for a clean nose)
- Physiological Solution
- Tonimer (for easier breathing)
TV. We watched the Pamela Anderson documentary on Netflix this month, and honestly, we didn't love it. Seeing her tell her story was good, but it didn't inspire us.
New coffee mugs. We already have too many, but we couldn't resist buying this Italian collection in HM Home. I can't wait to get them.
We bought flight tickets. We're going to Portugal in May and couldn't be more excited. Jernej and I have wanted to go for ages, but then covid came, and pregnancy number 1, pregnancy number 2, and now we're going to go with the kids. I am so excited.
WISHLIST OF THE MONTH
Luggage. We need a good suitcase for traveling by plane or car. I own two Samsonite suitcases, but this whole Beis collection looks fantastic. What's your favorite medium-size luggage?
