Quick and Delicious

Polpette

Polpette is a quick and easy family meal recipe made with ground meat. This Italian treat is juicy and tasty and you can easily make it ahead or freeze it.

Polpette
From as far back as I can remember, polpette have been a staple in our household. They were never in the traditional meatball shape, but more flat like a disk. My mom used to make them with a mixture of ground beef and ground pork, which is the mixture of meat we used as well. However, feel free to only use ground beef. These polpette are juicy, tender, and full of flavor. You can serve them with a simple tomato sauce or our delicious Zucchini Tomato Sauce. As a side, we like to serve them with mashed potatoes to add a creamy layer to the dish.

Storing and freezing

There are two ways to store these delicious Polpette.

Keep the chilled homemade Polpette, in the fridge, for up to 3 days. Before serving, reheat in the microwave oven or using a skillet.

Feel free to freeze the baked (cooled) Patties too. Place it in a freezer-friendly container and place it in the freezer for up to a month. Before serving, defrost at room temperature (or in the fridge overnight), then reheat in the microwave oven or using a pot.
