No-Bake Chocolate Balls

These chocolate balls are perfectly soft, rich, and full of flavor – just like the ones from your favorite bakery. Made in minutes, no baking needed.

No-Bake Chocolate Balls
Chocolate Hedgehogs or no-bake chocolate balls are one of those nostalgic desserts that instantly take us back to childhood. I’ll admit, we hadn’t had them in years – but when the kids spotted these cute chocolate balls again, all those sweet memories came rushing back. They’re soft, chocolatey, and wonderfully moist – a treat loved by everyone, from the youngest to the oldest. The best part? They’re incredibly easy to make: no baking, no complicated steps, just a few simple ingredients you probably already have at home.

No-Bake Chocolate Balls or Chocolate Hedgehogs

They’re really soft, rich, sweet, and delicious. Here are the top reasons why it’s worth making them at home:

Easy to make: They come together in just one bowl, in 15 minutes, with no baking and no resting time needed.

Incredibly soft and full of flavor: The combination of ground Plazma biscuits, cocoa, chocolate, and apricot jam creates the perfect texture – soft, moist, and just the right amount of sweet.

A wonderful dessert for both kids and adults: We also made them for a christening (you can shape smaller balls to get more of them). The hedgehogs are visually adorable, fun to make, and a hit with all generations. Kids love them, and adults enjoy serving them with coffee.

Customize to taste: You can omit the rum or almond butter, or add other spices if you like.

Tips and tricks

These sweet balls brighten up any holiday table and also make a perfect dessert for kids of all ages. You can make them even more fun by:

  • Instead of apricot jam, you can use raspberry or blackberry jam for a fresher flavor.

  • Instead of cocoa powder, you can use chocolate powder.

  • For a richer flavor, add nut butter: almond, peanut, or cashew butter.

  • You can optionally place a roasted hazelnut in the center of the hedgehog for an extra surprise.

Storing

These no-bake chocolate balls can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days and will stay fresh. Before serving, let them sit at room temperature for about 1 hour. They can also remain at room temperature for several hours.

Packaged in a box, they also make a cute, homemade gift for the holidays or a birthday.
