Juicy roasted chicken for the whole family
Chicken roasted in the air fryer is one of those recipes that can easily become part of your everyday menu. It’s a great way to prepare chicken for a family meal or to meal-prep for the week ahead. Here are the top tips for guaranteed success:
- Use a smaller chicken (up to 1.6 kg): larger ones won’t fit in the Tefal Easy Fry air fryer basket.
- Pat the chicken completely dry before cooking: this ensures the skin gets truly crispy.
- Don’t forget to flip the chicken during cooking: do this in the last 10 minutes to get an evenly golden crust
- Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before serving: this keeps it juicy and allows the flavors to come together beautifully.
What to serve with roasted whole chicken

Storing and freezing
This air fryer chicken can be stored in two ways — in the refrigerator or the freezer.
If you have any leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Before serving, reheat the chicken in the microwave or in a pan.
You can also freeze the cooked chicken. Store it in a freezer-safe container or freezer bag for up to one month. Before serving, let it thaw at room temperature, then reheat it in the microwave or in a pan.
