Angus Beef Burger with Brie
This year, Jernej and I are thrilled to share our favorite burgers of summer 2024 with you on the blog. Although our tastes differ, we both appreciate a classic cheeseburger and enjoy experimenting with new flavors. Today, I'm excited to share my favorite burger recipe. It's a delightful combination of soft homemade potato buns, a juicy Angus beef patty, creamy truffle-infused mayo, gooey brie cheese, and fresh rocket and tomatoes for a refreshing touch. Whether you choose to craft this burger entirely from scratch with homemade potato buns or use your favorite store-bought buns, you're in for a treat!

A delicious gourmet sandwich

These are the top reasons why I believe you should try this gorgeous burger at home:

  • a gourmet burger made with Angus beef, homemade buns, brie cheese, rocket, mayo, and tomatoes

Essential ingredients

Like any other burger, these are made with different layers of deliciousness that create the most magical treat. The following lines contain more about the ingredients.

Buns—feel free to use any burger bun you like. We made ours from scratch. We usually make them once a month and freeze them until needed—this way, we always have them at hand. This Potato Burger Bun is our favorite.

Patty—For this recipe, we used our new favorite beef Angus patties. They are so incredibly juicy; we adore them. We chose our local Burger z angusom Z'Dežele. Feel free to prepare them in a pan or on the grill.

Brie - Cheese lovers, this one's for you. While we usually opt for Cheddar, Brie cheese brings a whole new dimension to this burger. Its distinct, real flavor and slight meltiness will have you coming back for more.

Tomato - fresh slices or tomatoes are taking this burger to another level.

Rocket or Arugula - Prepare for a burst of freshness and lightness like no other lettuce can provide. Rocket is the secret ingredient that takes this burger to a whole new level of invigoration.

Mayo—This is a simple, aromatic, and flavorful two-ingredient sauce. Stir together your favorite mayo and tartufata or truffle sauce.

METHOD

  • sauce

Make the sauce by stirring together mayo and truffle sauce or tartufata. Store in the fridge until needed.

Place a large pan over high heat. Add a teaspoon of oil, and when the oil is hot, add the patties. Cook them until your preferred doneness is reached or for 3 - 4 minutes on each side for medium. First, cook for 2 minutes on each side, then flip twice to get it evenly cooked and delicious. Place two slices of Brie cheese on top of each beef patty, cover with a lid, and cook for 2 minutes for the cheese to melt. Remove from the heat and set aside for 3 - 5 minutes for the cooking process to stop. Optionally, grill the patties on the grill.

Start layering the burger. Cut the potato bun in half. Place a pan over medium heat. Add one teaspoon of butter, and when it melts, add the burger buns (cut side down). Toast until golden, then place the bottom on the plate. Add a generous tablespoon of sauce. Place the beef patty with the Brie cheese over the sauce. Add tomatoes and rocket (arugula). Spread some mayo sauce over the cut side of the top burger bun and cover the burger. Serve as soon as possible.
