METHOD

Bread
Stack the slices of bread and trim off the crusts. Use the crusts for croutons. Roll each slice of bread thinly. Add a slice of ham and a thicker slice of cheese to the lower part of the bread. Tightly roll it into a roll, starting from the cheese side. Repeat the process until you run out of ingredients.

Shape
Wrap each roll tightly in plastic wrap. For a nicer shape, place them in the refrigerator for one hour or overnight.

Cook
In a deep bowl, pour the milk and eggs and whisk well. Season with salt and pepper. Place a pan (Tefal Unlimited) over medium heat. Add butter and wait for it to melt. Before frying, dip each roll into the milk and egg mixture. Cook three to four rolls at a time, turning regularly, until the cheese melts and the outside turns golden brown. Serve warm.
