Chocolate Puff Pastry Star
Not only is the preparation extra quick (it takes just 30 minutes from start to serving), it’s also very easy, and the result is delicious. We all like to make an effort for the holidays, for guests, and for our loved ones—especially during festive celebrations—but sometimes, understandably, we’re short on time. That’s when it’s great to have an extra-easy, foolproof recipe up your sleeve. And this recipe is exactly that.

The most delicious star

This festive star recipe is seriously fun and easy, and these are its top qualities:

  • Festive look without the fuss (The star shape looks elegant, even though the preparation is surprisingly simple.)
  • Perfect flavor combination (Crispy puff pastry and soft, warm chocolate come together in a dessert that delights almost everyone.)
  • Quick to make (Ready in under 30 minutes.)
  • Adaptable recipe (Lino Lada can easily be replaced with another filling.)

Filling ideas

As the name suggests, we most often fill this chocolate star with chocolate spread. We like to use Lino Lada Gold Creamy or Nutella because it spreads perfectly. However, you can also try other fillings, for example:

  • Biscoff spread or another festive spread
  • Pistachio spread
  • Raspberry or strawberry jam
  • Vanilla custard or crea

METHOD

  • preparation

Place the oven rack in the middle of the oven and preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).

  • Puff pastry star

Unroll the first sheet of puff pastry and transfer it onto baking paper. Spread it with Lino Lada Gold Creamy or Nutella. Cover with the second sheet of puff pastry. Place a plate about 22 cm (9 inches) in diameter in the center and, using a knife, cut out a circle. Brush the puff pastry with beaten egg. Place a smaller plate, about 10 cm (4 inches) in diameter, in the center. Cut sixteen strips around the circle. Take two strips at a time, twist them together, and pinch the ends to seal. Remove the smaller plate. From the trimmed puff pastry, cut out small stars and place them in the center of the circle. Brush again with beaten egg and sprinkle with a pinch of salt.

  • Bake

Place the festive star in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes at 200°C (400°F). Once baked, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar and serve.
